Tutorial - How to Resize Pictures

1. Download and Install ImageResizer from Microsoft

Click HERE to download and install ImageResizer from Microsoft. This program is for Windows XP only. Click "Run" and follow the on-screen directions for installation.

2. Use ImageResizer to Change Image Sizes

Now that ImageResizer is installed on your computer, you may use it to easily change the size of images from your digital camera. Here is how:

  • Download the pictures from your camera onto your computer. If you do not know how to do this, consult your digital camera's manual.
  • Open up the folder that contains the pictures. Most likely, this folder will be named "My Pictures," or will be a folder inside of "My Pictures."
  • Right-Click with your mouse on a thumbnail of one of the pictures you have downloaded. The ImageResizer installation has given you a new menu option - "Resize Pictures." Click this option.

The ImageResizer window will open, giving you several options for resizing the image. By default, the options that are selected are perfect for iLookLocal:

  • 640x480 dimensions
  • Saves the smaller image as a copy (does not change original image)

Click "OK" to resize the image. Repeat this process of right-clicking and resizing for each image that you would like to use on iLookLocal.

3. Upload images on iLookLocal

Now, when you reach the "Upload Images" section on the Sell page of iLookLocal, you will have some conveniently sized images that can be uploaded quickly and are of high quality. They will even be tagged with the size of the image in parentheses so that you know which image to use.

That's it! Enjoy selling here on iLookLocal.com!
