Description
Local engineering firm is seeking a contract I/E Engineer. The candidate hired must have 8+ years experience with I/E controls and applications. Engineering degree preferred but not needed. PLC SCADA and DCS hardware, software, and programming knowledge are required.
Responsibilities include:
• 20-40 hours per week for now
• Full time position later if work persists and person is acceptable
• Some travel required to and from sites, and for limited work at sites
• Petroleum industry experience required
• 8+ years experience preferred
• Knowledge of pressure, level, temperature and other switches and transmitters
• Ability to program PLCs, SCADA, DCS
• Understanding of pneumatic controls
• Understanding of emergency controls such as emergency shutdown and flare line valves.
• Wiring, fiber optics, radio controlled methods
• Very good understanding of various communication methods
• One-line diagrams
• Cause and effect diagrams
• Ability to specify and select instruments
• Gas measurement a strong plus
• Fluid meters
• Control valves
• Installation and check-out required in some cases
• Some PSM awareness a strong plus
• Must be able to work with customers and team members effectively
• Must be able to work within the Select Project Management system
• AutoCad skills a strong plus
An engineering degree is preferred, but not required.
Strong industry experience and references are strongly preferred.
Personality requirements are:
• A strong self starter, as this is the only position of its type at SEI right now.
• Someone skilled at knowing where to look for solutions if they do not know the answers. We have some support contractors to work with.
